Unable to initialize the Unity Engine (android)

Hi, Yesterday i had upgraded my unity to 2018.1.2f1

also installed android sdk (platform level 27) and jdk 8

when I run my project on an android device, I get this error:

"Unable to initialize the Unity Engine"

I've changed Api Compability level to .Net 2.0 and still the same result.

I am also getting this error - been chasing it a couple of hours now over a couple projects. One of them (and only one of them) is showing me this error with the android debugger "adb".

11-20 17:21:53.310 27477 27493 E Unity : Invalid serialized file version. File: "/data/app/com.comp.simple-I57cJz1zWiBVCSO9mT28nQ==/base.apk/assets/bin/Data/globalgamemanagers". Expected version: 2018.2.4f1. Actual version: 2018.2.16f1.

But I haven't figured out what to do about it as I have upgraded everything already.

I solved it by searching for globalgamemanagers inside the Android project. There where old files there which have not been removed by "Clean project" command. Removed them manually and build.

help! Any other suggestions for this issue? Tried on several Unity versions, 2019.1, 2018.3.10, 2018.3.1. Installed UnitySetup-Android-Support-for-Editor-2018.3.10f1.exe deleting globalgamemanager files, net 2 subset... no error in log when building, i get success entry. sometimes this error pops up but im too noob to fix:

 NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
 System.IO.StreamReader.FindNextEOL () (at /Users/builduser/buildslave/mono/build/mcs/class/corlib/System.IO/StreamReader.cs:435)
 System.IO.StreamReader.ReadLine () (at /Users/builduser/buildslave/mono/build/mcs/class/corlib/System.IO/StreamReader.cs:468)
 UnityEditor.Utils.ProcessOutputStreamReader.ThreadFunc () (at C:/buildslave/unity/build/Editor/Mono/Utils/ProcessOutputStreamReader.cs:38)
 UnityEngine.UnhandledExceptionHandler:<RegisterUECatcher>m__0(Object, UnhandledExceptionEventArgs)

any help appreciated!

Hi, we have a similar problem with Unity 2020.3.22f1 reported by users on some android devices. Could you be more precise? How do you fix that?
