Nav Mesh Agent can't decide on path

While trying to make an enemy move towards the player using Nav Mesh Agent so that it pathfinds, I ran into a strange issue where despite giving the Nav Mesh Agent a destination, confirming that it has that destination, and making sure that the destination should accessible for the enemy, the enemy just jitters in place.

Here you can see that the white thing is in the Nav Mesh, though close to the edgealt text The pathfinding has been working for me, but every once in a while it just decides that a certain destination can only be reached by jittering.
Is there any way to fix this?
Is this a glitch/mistake with Unity's pathfinding or is it the fault of my own code?
