2D VIEW CHANGES HOW MATERIAL APPEARS - HELP

^ Shows what I mean - for some reason the 3d view has greyed out how certain materials appear - going into 2d view reverts them back to normal, but the second i swap back into 3d view they shift back.

WHAT IS GOING ON?
