Is it possible to setup testing conditions that would show heat transfer?

I am completely new to this and I was wondering if this can perhaps be used to test the performance on instore cases that you would typically see in supermarkets. More then anything, I want to see if its possible to setup testing conditions that would display the results of heat transfer throughout the case. Sorry if my question isn't clear.
