Question by Ravart · Jul 27, 2015 at 04:34 PM · shadermaskclip

Clip Mask, Show only what's inside the sphere

Generally I ask, how to achieve this effect -> All Objects inside the sphere are visible, otherwise they cut or hidden.

Stencil was a good start, but when I look through the Sphere, I see other Objects, which I don't want to achieve.

Hope someone can put me in the right direction.

You can use the Depth$$anonymous$$ask shader.
What you do is add the depth mask shader to the sphere. Attach the SetRenderQueue.cs to it and change the "RenderQue" value in the inspector to 2080. Then most things (except the terrain) should be hidden.

Does it work, when I have more than one "Vision-Sphere"? Cheers

Yes, then everything that is blocked out of the cameras view by a sphere is hidden

$$anonymous$$hh, Depth$$anonymous$$ask seems not to be thing I'm looking for.

I look for an effect similar to this one:alt text

But here the objects inside the sphere are grayscaled, not hidden...

Yeah, true, but I think it's a small final step to use the gray value for transparency :)

But what's happening in this picture is something different than that effect you described in the question. While in your question you're are talking about making objects outside the sphere invisible. In the picture the objects inside the sphere are grayscaled.
