Shadow caster2d disables itself

It looks like the shadow caster 2d disables itself when moving to the right of a shadow caster. small shadowcaster2d shapes work fine but larger ones do this weird thing at the right top most area.

I don't have any custom code that does anything with the shadows or lights. its just the default shadowcaster2d script and a single 2d light. All the different 2d light types does the same thing.
