How can I get the mesh that is represented by a convex collider?

Hi guys, I'm trying to acquire the mesh that is used for the physics calculation via a mesh collider. The documentation states that the sharedMesh property should be what I'm looking for, but it's just a reference to the mesh itself. Is there any way around this?
