Question by Shivam_Dhoot · May 04, 2015 at 05:35 AM · androidiospushpush notification

Push Notifications (to Specific devices)

I am having a problem. I want to add push notification in my app but the problem is i want some special services like

  • If someone hasn't used app for say like 2 days than that device should get a push notification that we've missed you (same as of 9gag style).

  • I want to add a data part in those push notification which i can parse accordingly.

  • I want to run demography based event how to get them.

I right now i am using push-woosh but i am all ok to change the service. Please help me sort these things out.

Look into Parse.com and OneSignal ... Pretty simple to integrate and use.

Hi. I help work on OneSignal, a free push notification service. I believe our service would meet all your needs.

If someone hasn't used app for say like 2 days than that device should get a push notification that we've missed you (same as of 9gag style).

This can be done with local notifications on iOS, but we also support Automatic Notifications on our service which work on all mobile devices. From the OneSignal dashboard, simply create a template with your desired message, then create a segment that matches users that haven't used your app in two days, then finally create an Automatic Notification with your Segment and Template.

I want to add a data part in those push notification which i can parse accordingly.

We support custom data for notifications across all devices. This custom data can be used in notification templates as well.

I want to run demography based event how to get them.

Not sure what you mean by this.

@shivam_dhoot I see. Yes, we support targeting by language. You can also provide custom data such as the country the user is in and use that to target your notifications.

What about location base push notifications, Ex: Only send to people who is in the Zoo.
