How to stop joypad order from randomizing?
I am on a team currently working on a local 4 player dungeon crawler. We are actually making a physical arcade cabinet, with 4 joypads connected. This means we need each joypad to always control the same character, as we have a matching color palette on the joypad and UI.
The problem I am having is that Unity is randomizing the joypad order. Using Input.GetJoystickNames() doesn't help either since all 4 joypads have the same name. Despite the randomization only happening on computer reboots, I am fairly sure this is a Unity problem because in the "Devices" tab of the Control Panel, they always show up in the same order. I can tell because each gamepad has a unique "address" you can view in properties.
Is there any way to differentiate the gamepads in unity using some other function?
