Help needed in view of camera..

I have a 2D plane and 3d characters... my camera is set at the top of the Plane so i can see full map..When i place my objects the viewd in 2D because of camera object.I have made the Grid in 2D plane .I want to c the objects in 3D.But i cannot change my camera location.
