How to sort draw order on transparent character puppet.
I have created a character in maya that is built with flat planes to hold hand drawn 2D graphics. It is a dinosaur with a rider on it. And it is all built as a 2D cutout puppet. It is fully rigged and it looks decent as a transparent cutout. But prior to exporting it as an animation, I was doing tests and exporting it as a static object and I was able to use the mobile particle alpha which is my target port. But now that it is all one animated character it seems to draw as one entity and all of the limbs are rendered out of order now. Is there a way that I can sort the transparency on one rigged character like this? I have heard some say that the render cue can be scripted to instruct what materials are rendered first, but the character has the same material all over it.
