Help with 2d animation

I have done my 6 frames for my 2D walk animation in photoshop but when i animate the character in unity he jerks back and forward because his leg is sticking back more in some frames than others meaning that the center is off. When I try to reposition each frame to line up unity animates it so that is slowly sways back and forward. How can I reposision each frame without unity animating it. Thanks

Since you are making a sprite sheet you need to first understand how big your character is going to be. Then you need a reference point for left and right and stick to it. Up and down is different because you need to have some up and down to "sell" the movement however if you stray left or right your character will vibrate. For example, my characters box is 431px (width) X 238px (height). In Photoshop, create which ever size you are shooting for (1024x1024, 2048x2048 etc...). After you have this, Layout a grid based on your characters sprite size. This number can also be used in the sprite editor via "Grid" to cut out perfect sprites (as long as you did it right in PS).
