Real soft shadow vs "illusion" shadow
Hello! I am new to this kings of things in Unity and have been trying to optimize a game for mobile, but there is something i want to do and don't know which way! I want an object to have a fairly realistic shadow, so a shadow projector won't cut it.
I am split between using a real shadow and using a fake one using a certain method. Since shadows are costly, i thought i could make a fake shadow that looks exactly like a real soft shadow would, and use a sprite renderer to render it in place of a real one. Is it better performance-wise?
