GUI Text Problem

ok so I go to GameObject, Create Other, GUI Text & it creates the object but the default " GUI Text " isn't showing on my mac & I don't know why.. help please!!!!

You press play and don't see anything? $$anonymous$$ight need some screenshots of the inspector to see what's going on.

did you set the position of the gui text to be centered on screen?

if you do that in alignment in GUI Text in the inspector then yes but if not then I don't know how.. sorry about this I'm new to unity & this is my first time trying it....

when you first create the GUI Text it's suppose to who up automatically in the scene & it doesn't show up at all... is what I meant to say...

I had this happen before, but it is usually just hidden. Make the GUI text font size very large and try sliding it around. Do not move to fast though cause it is touchy, but slide it around a bit and you will find it.

it's still not showing it... when you say slide it around you mean click on the arrows & slide it in those directions right? or am I doing this wrong? I'm trying to be careful not to mess it up.. I changed the font size to a larger number.. i tried deleting the object & creating a new one & apply the same principles but it still does't show..

Do not move it with the arrows, but in the inspector there is an x, y value. Hover over that and slide it around until you see the text.

This also has to be looked for in the game view, not scene view. It will not show up in the scene view, so if you are looking for it there that is your problem. Open both views, create a new GUI Text and make it very large. Look in your game scene and you should see it, if not slide it around by the x, y values in the inspector when the GUI Text object is highlighted.

Thank You!!!! I just found it in the game view like you said! your right my problem was looking in the scene view ins$$anonymous$$d of my game view! my mistake.
