Phantom Instantiation at Origin
I can't recreate this on demand. Sometimes I press 'play' and it's a problem, and the very next time I press play it's gone. I tried troubleshooting by turning off each component to see where the strange interaction is coming from, no consistent results.
I have a gameobject spawner setup which spawns gameObjects off screen (in 4 specific spots), they walk onto screen.
Every so often, a prefab spawns where it's supposed to start, and then it will immediately snap to origin on the next frame and stay there. If I forcibly move it, and move to the next frame, it snaps back to origin. The walking animation is playing, but it's not moving from 0,0,0.
Though the 2dcollide box is normal when inspected, it seems to interact with things well beyond it's bounds.
Have you heard of anything like this? Do you know why sometime would only be a problem 'sometimes'? I'll be working on this game for DAYS and then I'll get an hour where this is a problem, only for it to disappear again for another few days.
My gut tells me it's a box collider issue... but I don't have hard proof. Any incites?
I'm having the exact same issue, and this is the first time I saw anyone else being affected by it. I'm pretty sure it's related to the 2D rigidbodies. The only explanation I can muster is that it must be a bug within the engine... but if that were the case I would expect to see more people having this issue. $$anonymous$$eanwhile I just gave up on using 2D rigidbodies and went for the 3D ones. Not ideal but it works.
