Black Screen Only on First Start
Hi Unity fans. I've run into an interesting snag I can't seem to find a solution to. When running my app on iPad for the first time after install, the cameras don't seem to render anything. All I get is a black screen and music as soon as the splash screen cuts out. OnGUI() elements still show up, so I built a debug gui to display active objects in the scene. Everything is there, everything seems to be doing what it should, but nothing is visible.
If you close the app and start it again, the problem is gone. It only happens right after install or after an update. Objects are loaded into the scene sequentially using coroutines to keep loading performance at a minimum.
I'm guessing this is some kind of GPU error, that the first time assets are preloaded into cache something doesn't register fast enough. The second time around, cached elements are loaded more efficiently. Of course, I could be wrong.
Any ideas?
