Found solution
Unity 5 dwnload/instal fail
I have tried repeatedly to download Unity 5. I am doing it directly from http://unity3d.com/get-unity/update I get the Download Assistant, hit next next next and it starts. I get this far and it just seems to stall ... Please advise ... ugh ... this is on Windows ..... 
Don't know what I did ... but I tried to cancel it and then tried Retry ins$$anonymous$$d and then when that did not work just chose Ignore and it started co$$anonymous$$g on down ... seems to be working now ... I will let you know ....
Just get standalone installer - there is on that download link you have provided - select your "PLATFOR$$anonymous$$" and then "ADDITIONAL DOWNLOADS".
Ok, I am looking but I don't see a Standalone Installer listed.
Click on "ADDITIONAL DOWNLOADS" dropdown list and there should be listed x64 and x86 version (Unity Editor (64-bit) or Unity Editor (32-bit)) choose whichever you need.
P.S. There is also a torrent download just in case your net fail hard.
