Moving file failed (Temp/Backupscenes) when starting Game Mode - every Unity version, every project
I have worked with Unity for a few years now, and never had this problem before. But now it suddenly happens with every single project (even with almost empty new test projects) in every unity version, as it seems. Tried with 5.4.5 and 2017.2:
I open a project and start the game mode. When I exit the game mode and start it again, I get this error message:
Moving file failed
Moving ..../Temp/UnityTempFile-....(bunch of numbers and characters) to ..../Temp/__Backupscenes/0.backup: Access denied (Zugriff verweigert)
Additional information:
Windows 10 x64
Avast, SVN
I tried to restart Unity - this didn't help. The first time (after starting Unity) I start game mode, it works correctly, but any other time it shows the error.
I tried to move my project to C: instead of D: - This didn't help.
I tried to disable and even uninstall the anti virus software (avast). - This didn't help.
I tried to kill the tortoise svn cache process - this didn't help.
I tried to change the index settings for the project folder - this didn't help.
I tried starting unity as an administrator - this didn't help.
I uninstalled the recent Windows 10 Update - this didn't help.
I checked the length of the path to the project - didn't help, because it's not that long.
I tried this with PC/Linux build and iOS build - this didn't help.
I tried to disable "read-only" for the Temp folder - didn't help, because it's enabled again automatically.
I know there is another thread: https://answers.unity.com/questions/24571/moving-file-failed.html?page=1&pageSize=5&sort=votes but I don't know if it's the same problem. And no answer there helped with my problem, so I try it here. Hope that someone can help.
Any idea how to fix this?
By the way: There are four buttons: "try again" - re-opens this error window "force quit" - closes Unity "cancel" - closes the error window and starts the game mode "x" - acting the same like "cancel".
But even if I can start the game mode this way: I can't be sure that the scene shows all of my recent changes in the game mode. I don't know if there are consequential errors in this...

Okay, got it. Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware was the problem. Maybe this helps someone with the same problem.
Yep it does ! Thanks ! After a lot of forums I read your reply and forgot I had $$anonymous$$alwareBytes in background, disabled it and it worked !
