Android/IOS: Sharing save file between free and paid versions
Is the any way to share playerPrefs from the free version of an app to the paid version so that users do not lose their progress? I know playerPrefs is kept in the registry on windows, but how is it handled in Android and IOS? Is it even possible to accomplish this?
Thanks.
i have yet to still make a save file for iOS, but from what i have read there is a separate folder on the iPhone to store save files, which don't get updated when the app receives a new update.
however if your free version of the app is the full version, and levels or features are locked until you purchase the full version via either store or in app purchase, it should make it easier. as your not downloading a different game. i notice a lot of people do this on the app store, maybe thats why.
you can have a look at this for the folder
