2D topdown fake 3d physics ?
Hello,
iam currently developing a 2d topdown game, iam afraid that i run into a point where i have to admit that i should have used 3d Physics instead. But thats no option for me because my whole level generation lighting etc is running on 2D and maybe wont on 3D, the Generator for sure.
Well i want to achieve that the player can destroy stuff at 0 gravity. Like shooting a woodenbarrel and i want the little parts to fake the gravity.
I already did this for single bullets flying out of a gun, they drop bounce and then when they hit the ground the second time they fade more grey and are stopped.
Is there a better way doing this ? Because i would like to remember from where the barrel was shot so the force is applied in a more realistic way.
The current solution i can see would be to create a dynamic script which allows dynamic forces to be applied on x / y axis of the little part of the destroyed object. And then fake the bouncing like i did for the bullets.
thank you Justin
