Unity 5.6 recalculating Real Time GI everytime the Editor exits play mode
Hi guys,
Quick query -
I have a medium size scene, the size of one floor of an office. Unity has done a great job of calculting the scene for Real Time GI. It takes 5 - 10 mins to calculate this each time I make a change to the scene contents, which is acceptable.
However when I hit play to test the scene, all is well. But when I stop play mode and continue working in the Editor, Unity loses the Real Time GI data and re calculates the scene all over again which is a bit of a blocker in terms of time.
Has anyone else experienced this? or found a work-around?
Thanks!

First thing to do is to uncheck the "Auto" option for Lightmap Building in the Lighting Panel (Window Menu -> Lighting). Take control of when you build lighting.
I'm not sure why it would be initiating a rebuild every time you exit play mode, but this is a good first step.
