Using Modo for Unity?

Hi, I'd rather not aid the monopolising Autodesk and was seeking alternatives to software such as Maya and 3Ds Max. I've used Blender and its great, but I'd like something a little more 'industry standard'. I came across Modo very recently and was wondering a few things:

  1. Can I import Modo files into Unity like with other 3d modelling applications?

  2. Does it support animations (I've heard that it isn't great for bone animations (or something along those lines))

  3. What other issues does Modo have with regards to game development?

If you could, please suggest alternatives, or voice your love for Autodesk, I know its good software, I'm just a bit reluctant is all.

You are probably better off asking this discussion question on Unity Forums.

I work with an artist who uses $$anonymous$$odo. The 3D models come to me as FBX files. He also does art for other clients where the target is Unity. Since I don't do the art side, I cannot give you any compare and contrast. I know for his business he has to know $$anonymous$$aya as well, and selected $$anonymous$$odo as his primary modeling program.
