Question by imstech · Nov 04, 2014 at 05:14 PM · deploymentassetserver

Does Unity Asset Server 2.0.1 support CentOS 7?

Since a lot has changed between CentOS 6 and 7 (systemd and all), is it advisable to deploy Unity Asset Server 2.0.1 to CentOS 7? Or would you rather recommend deploying to CentOS 6? -- Thanks!

I'm going to go with No as I am finding it impossible to install on 7.1 right now even from source.

$$anonymous$$aybe the following is helpful in regard to CentOS 7:

  • Q824749: Asset Server won't start

  • Q846740: Cache Server doesn't exit gracefully

The answer is Yes.

  1. You need to install 32-bit version of glibc and zlib via yum install glibc.i686 zlib.i686

  2. Install unity asset server via binary rpm -Uvh unity_asset_server-2.0.1.i386.rpm

  3. Edit /etc/rc.d/init.d/unity_asset_server, remove the first blank line which ensure #!/bin/sh is at the first line.

  4. Then you can start unity asset server via command systemctl start unity_asset_server.

Cheers!
