Can not leave play mode in unity 5 personal edition.

Whenever i try to leave play mode on the unity 5 personal edition it doesn't work. I was wondering if anyone has this same problem and if i could some help possibly?

I have looked at the FPS controller and did notice that there wasn't anything for escape but have no clue what to add and were.
