instantiate in the editor (Prefab Problem)
Hi, I load my prefabs from the Resources folder and instantiate them using the editor script. (not during game play)... If I drag and drop the prefab, it seems like this prefabs are instance to the main prefab from the resource folder as their properties are getting changed when the actual prefab in the resource folder is changed.
But the prefabs that I instantiated from the Editor script doesn't seems to change when I modify my actual prefab in the resource folder. How can I make the instance of the prefabs?
This happens to me as well, though I hadn't noticed until I saw your question and double checked. ;)
so.. you found a solution for that... Instantiate is just a copy not the instance of the Prefab.. lolz... So how did unity Editor manage to make the instance of the object if drag and drop from the Resource folder prefabs/

Make sure you are using EditorUtility.InstantiatePrefab
No such method exists in EditorUtility. At least, not anymore.
It is now PrefabUtility.InstantiatePrefab()
