[meta] Why was my question deleted and where is it now?
I wrote a question yesterday for something that I think I had tried to research in some detail and couldn't find a good answer for, so I wrote a question with details on what I was trying to do, code, reference to the manual for something that might be related to what I was trying to do but couldn't see how to apply it to my use case, etc. I think that it was a decent question at least. The question was more than 8 hours on moderation and after that it disappeared, never to be seen again and no info whatsoever on why it was deleted! To make it worse, I don't seem to be able to find my question anywhere, is there a deleted questions folder or something like that? Now if I want to ask this again:
I don't know what I need to change to make it better
Even if I knew what the problem was, I have to write all over instead of modifying my original question.
And again, I should be able to access my past questions, even if deleted in case I want to ask this in another (hopefully more tolerant) site without going into writing everything again
While this is something that happened to me and I'm interested in knowing, I'm also wondering about the big picture, i.e. how does this play in the users as a whole. I've read in some discussions that one of the problems with this site is that it's lacking critical mass of users among other things and this kind of attitude doesn't play well towards that to be honest. I think these kind of things is a very good reason for a new user to go away after their first question to never be seen again. Specially when some effort was put into asking.
Sounds like a 1-time bug (but I barely know how the back-end works.) You should be able to see your rejected Q's. I know most other people can.
One of the rules of UA is to ask one Q at a time. I thought "where is my deleted Q" was fine (and added $$anonymous$$eta to the title.) As to why it was rejected, take a look at the FAQ. But, since you can't see it, it may not have been rejected, and just lost.
p.s. as Owen mentioned, it's considered good practice to follow up/close your previous questions before asking a new one.
I see, I haven't received anything and to be honest. And cannot find anywhere in my profile a rejected question "folder", nor there in any mention of it in the FAQ.
@tanoshimi Regarding the question itself, maybe I should have been more clear, I know how coroutines and yielding works, but I didn't know if this was the way to go to solve the problem I had. Since even if I know a feature, it doesn't mean I know how to use it effectively for the problem I was having (or even if this is what I needed, since I had a hint it might, but was not sure). As I said, I had already read docs and search for answers before posting, and since I didn't find an effective answer to what I was looking for I asked. Anyway, I think it's discussion that would have benefited others in the site on a public conversation.
I'll take care of my unanswered question a bit later, sorry about that.
Well, to answer your original question then: yes, running a routine over multiple frames is precisely what coroutines are for, and that link should explain how to use them effectively.
O$$anonymous$$, the FAQ says that rejected Q's are in the Activity panel. And I was able to see the OPs rejected Q there. So it seems like there was never a problem -- the Q was never deleted (just rejected) and everything is fine.
$$anonymous$$y activity panel takes 30 seconds to come up, but new users don't seem to have the problem.
"it's discussion [...] public conversation." UA isn't for that. See the FAQ.

Your question is located here.

I found this by going to your profile page, then clicking on the activity tab.

In general we are not in the habit of reversing other mods decisions. You were provided with a link to the tutorial that will solve your problem. Follow the link. If you have further questions come back with the coroutine you have built.
I've found that way of accessing my old question, not the most intuitive. The main problem arised since I didn't receive a notification for this, and entering my profile would not show a notification or the question anywhere. Anyway, thanks all for the help I think this can be closed now.
Checking up on a question I was helping with, I find it's deleted! When I go to my activity tab, it shows my comments on the question, but the link just takes me to the deleted question page and says "permission denied". When I go to the activity tab of the OP, the question is nowhere to be seen. After spending some effort on it, I'm just trying to find out why or by whom the question was deleted. Am I doing this wrong or is something- else going on here?
Was the question published then deleted? Or was it deleted from the.mod queue? You shouldn't be spending effort providing substantial comments on questions while still in the mod queue.
Indeed. I found it originally on the normal-old "unanswered" queue. Was the question published then deleted?
@Owen-Reynolds @HelliumThat's the thing, I have read that and my question didn't seem to violate any of these rules. Are there any trolls that just flag questions for fun because I have experienced that on other websites before :/
$$anonymous$$y question was asking how I could make the game start if the main menu was left idle for 30 seconds and how I could make a model's animation play over the main menu to press the play button.
When my question was removed, I read through these to see how I could have violated any rules but I didn't find anything that I did wrong :( I read through my question again to double check(yes even for any typos in case that was an issue) and it wasn't, so I'm really confused as to why my question was taken down :(
@Crafty$$anonymous$$aelyss - this is not a forum - it's a Q&A site. You just posted this as an "answer", but it doesn't in any way attempt to answer @kkxzd's question. This time, I've converted it for you, but please in the future add a comment rather than an answer.
As for your other question, you mean this one: http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/1226543/you-can-still-move-the-camera-in-the-pause-menu.html ?
Thank you and yes, that's the one. I did try to post it in a forum but it was deleted, so I really am confused about that.
Under the heading "Guidelines for Good Questions," last bullet point. Once you figure that out, you can just look up the answers. But, the thing is, your Q probably should have been sent to the HelpRoom area, ins$$anonymous$$d of being Rejected. But the FAQ is so out-of-date that it tells new $$anonymous$$ods to Reject.
Someone also told me the same thing about it being out of date and when I went to the forums to post it, it was deleted, so I'm pretty confused about how this system works but thank you for helping me :)
