Using GIMP with Unity
Causes a lot of problems that need to be fixed, but on Mac builds only. Examples:
-In icons of published apps, colors of red and yellow are blender into random parts of the icon, and sometimes you can see an image of the gimp XCF file icon…
-Publishing from windows to mac makes the screen grey during Gameplay.
Got limited access to Answers as I'm still not getting mail notifications but try File -> ExportTo and save in a more standard format like png, before importing into Unity.

I use GIMP and GIMP alone, this is what I do to overcome these things. I save the images as .psd files, which is the default file for a photoshop image. which Unity is practically made for. Just export your images into .PSD formats and put them into your game, transparencies should stay the same and as well as the colors.
Hope this helps, Star Crossed
Does saving it as a .psd keep the sprite slice names aswell?
