[Meta] Is there a list of recent changes deployed to Unity Answers?
Looks like the moderation link at the top now shows the number of queued posts, and there is now syntax highlighting in formatted code. Is there a list somewhere that shows all of the new changes?
And thank you! It's good to see some long needed updates here.
Pffff, I commented a couple times but I'm an idiot so I removed them. I thought I copied the line numbers in the new code style but nope.
I'm loving the moderation counter and I'd love to see a link like that.
Now we just need our Search function back. :p
A search function isn't that important. Google is way better ;) What i miss the most is a notification system built into the site. I recently opened my thunderbird (yep i just check mails every few days) and at the moment i have 700+ mails from UA. $$anonymous$$ost things are solved long ago bt in between there are for sure some things i've missed.
The "old" (Stack Exchange) notification was great. You see a list of questions which received new posts / changes, but when you visit the question it's automatically removed from that list.
Google's fine and all, but I miss being able to search for questions that have been answered. There were a few times when I instantly found an answer for my own question 'cause I could see which answers were green.
Insite-ntoficiation isn't something I even thought about; I'd love that. I keep going back to my userpage and opening the last few things I've answered as a substitute, but I'm 100% certain there are some things addressed to me I haven't responded to :(
Oh, y'know what else? Links to the scripting refeerence inside code blocks, just like on Forums. I used to post direct links to functions on the reference all the time; recently I'm just getting lazy and linking to the ref itself.
I don't see any moderation counter, although nothing seems to be in the queue currently so maybe that's why. The syntax highlighting is nice. Also, you can use the backtick to inline formatted code again like in the old site. Plus the "most voted" link on the user pages is fixed....the code format button is available in the comment box now...probably some other stuff. I was asked recently about what should be improved about Qato and this is pretty much all stuff I mentioned, so either that's a nice coincidence or else they listened and implemented a lot of it (and very quickly I might add), so that's really good to see and makes me feel more positive about this site. Although you still have to hover to see the year in the date for older questions (gotta complain about something ;) ).
Edit: yep, the moderation link is showing (2) now, nice. And the items in the queue have a "read more" button so you can see everything. Hopefully that will cut down on people approving spam. ;)
I agree with Loius: I can only find my own answers when I remember part of the title - usually it's easier to write a new one. It would be very nice if we have some way to search only in our own answers! At least the most voted button in our profiles finally is working again, which helps finding our answers.
Anyway, after some disastrous changes like that damned code pop-up, UA finally seems to have found its way: these improvements are very welcome!
