RESTful APIs with authentication in Unity 5?

I see that there are some RESTful API alternatives out there, but I could not managed to get any of them to compile.

Is there a step-by-step foolprof guide that will let me install any needed dependencies to get going with authenticated REST calls in Unity 5?
