gradiant ramp????

hey guys how do i make a photo realistic eurth i have the hd textures of eurth but i want to know how i can make it as real as posible

and how to do the gradiant ramp(this is in 3ds max a material that allows you to make a sort of fallof layer to get the blue glow and yes i have traid it with an halo in unity but thats not what im looking for it isnt real

i hope you kn ow what i mean thanks wesley s

It's not quite clear to me what you want the gradient ramp to control from your post - a screenshot from max would go a long way.

I think I know what effect you're after, but not exactly. As I see it you have 2 options. The first (if you have Unity Pro) is to try and use image effects like glow or bloom with some tweaking - Image effect scripts. The second is to tweak an existing shader to do what you want. A good place to start is the Wiki (for example the XRay shader uses a gradient ramp to use the angle you're looking at the object to determine transparency).
