Question by Marteen21 · Feb 19, 2015 at 12:26 AM · layers2.5d

2.5d Sorting Layers

I have an orthographic 3D camera view, and all my objects are in 2D sprites and they are facing the camera, but if an object is from several sprites (for example a character) and the sorting is done by shifting on the Z axis, they can get mixed up with other sprites. With sorting layers it could be avoided, but then its only a static order and won't matter if the character is "behind" or in "front" of the other sprite. alt textalt text

Basically I want to group those multiple sprites of a character so they will act as one. Is this possible using some rendering order trick?

You could parent them to one object. $$anonymous$$oving that object will move them all.

That is already done, thats not the problem im having. The object moving together but the sprites are shifted on the Z axis so another sprite can slide between them.
