Question by Andyzano · Oct 31, 2014 at 10:40 PM · particlescolliders

What's the best way to stop particles?

So, I have a pretty simple problem but it's been a while since I used Unity. I have a 3D house placed on a terrain during a rainstorm particles. My problem is simple: some of the rain particles are somehow leaking inside the house even if it has its own Mesh Collider.

I remember I used to do Component -> Effects -> World Particle Colliders (and I can't remember if I had to add that on the particles or on the house mesh) but I noticed that now this component is under "Legacy particles" which makes me suspect there's a better way.

Sorry if the question isn't clear enough...

IIRC, this setting is now part of the shuriken component submenus.

I'm terribly sorry, could you be a little more specific? I don't know how to find this menu :(

You need to kill the particle after it has collided with an object.

In your particle system, under "Collision" change:

Lifetime loss = 1

The new particle system is called "Shuriken", it's a component that you can add to any gameobject: http://docs.unity3d.com/$$anonymous$$anual/class-ParticleSystem.html
