Crash reports in OSX/Linux no longer working in 5.2?
I see that in Unity 5.2 several changes were done regarding native unhandled exceptions in OSX. For example, if I am inside the editor and force a crash from a native plugin (eg: __builtin_trap()) Unity no longer closes. This is very fine, because we are a native plugin and sometimes our code generates access violations that was killing the editor. In Windows we have this under control using Structured Exception Handling, for OSX we had to do some tricks because in this platform is no that easy. Anyway, it is good to know that Unity is now taking care of this.
But, there is a problem. In standalone, it is happening the same. Whenever an unhandled exception is happening, the player swallow it without giving more information. This is bad for us, because whenever a crash happen our clients are not going able to send us a crash reports.
Note that in Windows it is working as it should. Whenever a crash happens a minidump is created in a folder next to Assets. But in OSX and Linux, crashed are being ignored. I think this is a bug because it worked fine before 5.2.
Is there a way to get crash reports on those platforms again?
