how can i draw many (1000+) sprites
Hi,
I want to draw thousands of sprites (small ship - 1 gfx < 10kb) but when i have 200 on my screen the fps gets single digit. This is for a small space game where many ships are moving around. When i have 20 objects everything is fine. Even if i use a untextured sphere instead of the sprite, after 250 or so, the fps is dropping low...
How can i achieve to draw lots of (moving) objects in one scene?
cheers, keimax

Put them all on a single texture/material, and map them via UV Meshes. It's pretty much work doing it manually. But you can also buy the 2D Toolkit from Asset Store for ~50 EUR, which will merge the single sprites into a bigger atlas.
