Joystick doesnt work on parent or child of parent. Works when i have it on just a gameobject need help

I added skins to my game. Skins work perfectly but now the joystick has stopped working. The joystick will work on a gameobject by itself but will not work on a parent or child of a game object. This is super frustrating and would love if anyone had any input that could help me out.

What is weird to me is that WASD controlls still work. But the joystick does not and the joystick is very important.
