Are the prefabs stored in RAM or in the Hard disk?
I have many prefabs objects (65 MB).
My game use 100 different levels with combinations of the prefab objects.
What is better create 100 scenes or create only one scene where the prefab objects are placed with data from a XML?.
Each Scene load your own prefab objects?
Are the prefab objects loaded in the RAM when the scene is loaded or are stored in the hard disk and then loaded in the RAM when come in the scene?
There are other Q's here about creating an adjustable scene, or multiple scenes. The answer is it depends on various other things, and what you are good at (many people are not comfortable having X$$anonymous$$L drive scene-making code. A Unity scene-switch is easy and reliable. But go ahead and read them.)
Unity doesn't doesn't decide where things are stored, and prefabs aren't special. The operating system puts any data wherever it feels like. If you like, read about Operating Systems, Least Recently Used, caching ... .
