Question by aFeesh · Mar 16, 2015 at 09:41 AM · camerarotationvector3

How can I always make a sphere appear to be rotating in the same direction no matter the camera angle

I have a sphere and I have a camera object. Currently my sphere is rotating. On initialization everything works fine. However, if I move my camera around, then the sphere is still rotating in the same direction, but from the cameras new viewpoint it does not look like it. How can I always make the sphere appear as though it is rotating in the same direction no matter the cameras view point. Basically the spheres rotation needs to change to match the Cameras angle.

Right now on my sphere I have this script:

 void Update(){

   transform.Rotate(Vector3.left, 10.0f * Time.deltaTime);

 }

Then if I move my Camera around it appears as though the sphere is no longer rotating left because the new camera angle.

Neither the Camera nor the Sphere are children of each other.

In other words I need to match the Spheres rotation with the new camera angle.

All that did was stop my sphere from rotating in general and caused it to rotate when the camera rotates. I would like my sphere to have its own rotation, but have that rotation appear the same when you move the camera.

$$anonymous$$eaning how can I change the spheres rotation to match the new camera angle.
