Use buttons to change string on other object
Last week I started using the Unity UI system for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at how straightforward it is. I've created quite an elaborate level select screen where absolutely everything is functional. My idea is that you select a level from a list and then a panel appears, displaying info on the level in question. There is also a game object in the scene, that's inactive by default. It has a string called level and once activated, the script loads the selected level. The start button quite simply activates the game object in question, causing the level to load instantly. The one thing I haven't managed to do is to change that level string by selecting a level.
So my question is quite simply... how do I do that?
