Question by GreagDeay · May 28, 2014 at 06:41 PM · c#buildwebplayerobfuscationpacking

Packing Web Build from Folder

I'm trying to protect my web game project from .net reflector steps:

1) unpack webbuild.unity3d with disunity util

2) obfuscate dll's

3) pack back to webbuild.unity3d

i have a problem with last step

How can i do this?? Couldn't find any working free solution from google

P.S. unity 3d obfuscator isn't an answer for me

the problem with security is that it can be always broken, i had a similar issue with SQLite. if someone is willing to go through reflector to hack into your game then they will probably go all the way to the unity encryption too.

No matter how much you time you waste pouring security features into a game, some one in a 3rd world country will stop at nothing to break it.

also Unity uses C++ inside the engine and compiles C# into something else, forgot what exaclty. not sure how Reflector would go about this. just remember the unity doc even tell you that there are tools that can save off your models as they re sent to your graphics card!(though i have never seen these tools)

take a real of these, they go right into it. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2478230/how-can-i-protect-my-net-assemblies-from-decompilation

I googled this... .by changing a single byte in the optional header screws up reflector using a hex editor http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/670737/Csharp-Prevent-Reflector-from-Decompiling

also Disunity used as a hacking tool for unity, its not designed to help you obfuscate your source code. (asset robbers and the occasional modders and fans) http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=10739

^infact that very tool is why i use my own way of building games in unity
