Transmitting friction from a moving object to another
In a pong like game (in 3D) I would like to ball to start spinning when ever it bounces off a moving paddle. I have a Physic Material on both the paddle and the ball with friction to them but when moving the paddle the ball does not seems to pick an friction. I am using the transform to update the paddle position according to mouse coordinate on "OnMouseDrag" event, so my first guess would be that as far as the physic engine is concern the paddle does not move. Am I getting this right ? How can I go about fixing this?

Always use the Rigidbody members to modify objects controlled by physics, inside of FixedUpdate:
