Selecting Grid Sqaures from Projector on Terrain
I've been reading on how to put grid squares over a terrain map and managed to get it displayed over my scene but I'm not sure how I can make it so that when the users mouse is over a grid square it changes color and when clicked can then respond by changing that square only to a different terrain design.
Basically a bit like farmville in that you select a grid square which has grass and then click to change to dirt and then grow something. Any ideas?
Use colliders and physics raycast. Check the docs for those.
I've looked at those, I get how you'd use raycasts to see if something is in line with your object but not to see if a users mouse is over a grid square placed by a projector, particularly being there is hundreds of squares over the terrain and placing a collider on each individual square might be a but of an overhead.
Did you find a solution? I'm trying to make the very same thing
