Unity Can't Connect to Localhost:8000 (Laravel)

Hi guys,

So I've successfully used the WWWForm to post data to a script on localhost (using XAMPP) and via the internet as well.

I'd like to use laravel for the backend server side of things and for testing purposes I'd like to use localhost. It uses localhost:8000 and PHP's built-in development server.

This may be a longshot but would anyone know or able to point me in the right direction on why I get the "Can't connect to host" error? And yes, if I use a browser everything works like it's supposed to.

postURL = "localhost:8000/upload"; ive also tried "localhost:8000", "127.0.0.1:8000/upload", etc.

Even if you don't think you have an answer and just a theory I'd love to hear it and figure it out, I've been Googling like crazy.

Thanks so much!

Although this ins't an answer as to why unity can't connect with localhost:8000, I did figure out a work around.

If you're using the laravel framework, just copy and paste the project to the XAMPP htdocs folder and then chmod -R 777 /applications/xampp/htdocs/[your project folder]

Thanks!
