How to convert old GUI to new 4.6 UI?

The title says it all. I am following a tutorial on how to setup a server-client game and it uses the old GUI and when I try to update it to the new 4.6 UI it doesn't work. I'm probably doing it wrong. Is there a correct way to convert the GUI? If so, how would it be done?
