Movie textures on iOS / Android
I would like to apply a movie to a sphere. The target use case is an AR app with Vuforia, so it has to run on iOS devices (and ideally also on Android).
When I select the "Movie texture" option for an imported movie, Unity tells me that "Movie textures" are deprecated. I also see in the docs that Movie textures are not supported on iOS or Android.
In the Asset store, I found the "Easy movie texture" asset, but this is rather old and in its forum someone states that Unity would provide an out-of-the-box solution from Unity 5.6 on.
So I am wondering if there is already a "non-deprecated" way of applying movie textures available today, and if this new way supports mobile devices? Unfortunately, there is no hint about a new way to apply movies as textures in the documentation. It does not even state that "Movie textures" are deprecated. This can only be seen in Unity itself.
