Why are there so many triangles on plane?
Hello,
I have a quick 2 question: Why are there so many triangles on plane? Does the fact that there are so many triangles on a plane affect performance (for mobile games)?
Thanks!
$$anonymous$$y guess: they are more suitable for interactive cloth; https://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/Components/class-InteractiveCloth.html. It will affect performance though not much.

It does indeed affect performance in a way, although very little. It has many triangles to be used for anything that require many triangles, like a vertex shader or a bumped texture or as @ejpaari said: InteractiveCloth. If your need is just a flat texture (maybe unlit even), you can use a Quad instead of Plane and it will have only four vertices. GameObject - Create - Quad
