Hair simulation, unity 4 or unity 5 (cloth?)
I was looking for information on hair simulation in Unity 4 or Unity 5? But I can't find anything significant. Is the only approach to use cloth simulation. I tried that on one character and the program slowed to a crawl.
I found these videos on youtube of hair tessellation from 4 YEARS ago.

Is anything like that possible in unity?

could this be what you are after?
Not really, I've seen that but it doesn't seem to be easily applied to the hair problem. I was wondering if there was something a bit more hairy.
this would be very intensive on the computer ill have a look on the asset store see if i can find anything that would similer or point you in the right direction
ok after some thought you could try making a particle that come out of the head and flows down and make it react with physiscs i think this would not be so intensive and look quite cool actulay and this way you could make players be able to edit length color ect in game
