Above images are screenshot for whitecat project. White circles shown at center of 2nd and 3rd screenshot are UI for virtual joystick.

I want to know how implement that streched UI, like morphing sprite. Those kinds of UI also shown at some iPhone applications. I don't know exact term for these UI, could you tell me any idea and its name?
I also want to know how this is done. This is the only thread I can find about this stretchy joystick sprite.
