'Scroll Rect' functionality for Unity 4.5
Hi everyone,
I'm developing a mobile game using Unity in C# for both iOS and Android. I have a very simple question regarding scroll in Unity. In short, I'm trying to utilize scrolling in my mobile without using GUI.Scrollview, because the items I'm scrolling through are not GUI elements and GUI.Scrollview is not a responsive option. I just want simple touch scroll window, where I'm able to scroll through achievement entries for example.
I know Unity 4.6 can do this easily using Scroll Rect and I drool just watching how easy it is, however my project needs to be launched by December and I don't know if I can wait for 4.6's release. I'm hoping it will be soon, but in case it doesn't I could really use some advice how to get this scroll functionality working without GUI.Scrollview.
Thanks very much and let me know if you need more details about my problem.
Nathan
This is a pretty general question. Design/discussion questions should be asked on Unity Forums. The core of your question is just a drag limited to one axis. You will find multiple answers concerning dragging on Unity Answers. But usually when someone is seeking this kind of functionality, they also want things like selection, user feedback on touches/clicks, momentum for swiping, etc. Each one of these would be a different Unity Answers question.
Note that if you are willing to spend some money, EZGUI and NGUI can do this easily. I also believe there is a free (limited or old) version of NGUI that may do the job.
