Older versions of admob are becoming deprecated next month. Will the extension which hasnt been updated in 3 years still work?

As older versions of admob are being deprecated and the last version of the unity admob extension is from 3 years ago, will admob ads still work? My android sdk is fully up to date so I'm not sure if that will fix it for future updates.
