Unity automatically saving over project when program is closed.
I really can't wrap my head around what is happening here. I have spent over 6 hours working on my project. I had opened and closed Unity a few times with no problems, saving my scene and project just fine. Now for some reason, if I close Unity it will automatically save the scene and project as is with out any kind of prompt popping up, which would allow me to cancel the save. I just lost a whole nights worth of work because of this and would greatly appreciate any feedback.
$$anonymous$$y feedback would be: Use a source control. For example Subversion.
No, really. Even if you are working alone.
You can install Subversion locally without any need for "server" and stuff.. Once you get used to it, "checking in to snapshot my current working version" becomes second nature. Its just a soo easy way to just "revert to this point in time when the world made sense".
Also note, even if you "fix" that auto-save: Unity will always save your project assets without asking. The prompt is only for the current scene.
